While the debate rages on over what can be done to save us from Walgreen’s once Pioneer Market closes on August 1st, the local arts community is bemoaning the loss of the first and now the last of the Chicken Corner galleries Ojal. Also still available at the NY Times website is Elliott Smith’s Uneasy Afterlife. *I completely missed that Echo Park neighbor and Los Angeles Magazine writer R.J. Smith wrote this article. I’ve also updated the link to another site where this article now shows up.
