Moving a four-family craftsman bungalow

973 Days Later, Terra Firma! What began as a gargantuan task, moving a four-family craftsman bungalow 1-mile down Sunset Blvd., turned out to be the easy part. In one quick early morning drive the building was on its new site then things became difficult and the house sat…but today we can report that home owner Kevin Kuzma is a happy camper–all the wood and steel that had held the building 3-feet off the ground has been removed and the Kevin and his house are sitting pretty! With a significant amount of work already complete Kevin & Dari should be moving in before we know it…lets all keep our fingers crossed. Congratulations Kevin! (more…)

Illustrator Chandler Wood’s fine work shows up again on the LA Weekly cover while Barbara Bestor’s Silver Lake architecture office cum canvas/billboard is in the LA Times.

In today’s New York Times Home section Nestling In (east of Hollywood) featured new architecture in Echo Park (not presently online). The Elysian Park House by COA at the top of Morton and a second home designed by Greg Chasen a stones throw away on Duane Street.

San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood

The New York Post describes San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood as a cross between Echo Park and Brooklyn’s Park Slope while Hipsters Send Times Into Tizzies, and Gary Leonard loses his nest egg to the rain.

The Echo Park Film Center is looking for LA filmmakers under 25 to submit work for the First Annual EPFC Youth Film Festival to be held May 20, 21 and 22.
