Thanks to Hexod.us for his post last week. It wasn’t until Friday afternoon when I found this article after I opened up Thursday’s LA Times while relaxing at the Saline Warm Springs in Death Valley. The sidebar in the print addition listed EchoPark.Net under the Neighborhood heading and noted among other things that it is sporadically updated, which we felt was generous considering the quality of the text here.
Also of note this weekend was more of the ceaseless extolling of how hip and pricy Echo Park is. The fact that Holly and Christine are tied to this article (closeted hipsters) warms my heart although Hexod.us isn’t so happy. Scroll down, you’ll find no less than ten references to the H-word here.
Fortunately though we have Hollywood to perpetuate Echo Park’s shady reputation; on last weeks LOST two references were made to our neighborhood. First while the LAPD Cruiser is driving along on the Westside the radio crackles with a report of an assault at Alvarado and Reservoir then moments latter a suspect in an officer’s shooting is apprehended while committing a crime in lovely Echo Park. Some writer is trying to drive down home prices so he too can live where it is hip!
