ECHO PARK features the return of Harry Bosch, and fans of the Bosch series will not be disappointed. Bosch is working in the open-unsolved unit of the LAPD and he becomes involved in the case of Marie Gesto.

The Gesto case has never been solved, and aspects of the case have haunted Bosch for over a decade. Connelly is at the top of his game in ECHO PARK . All of the characters are motivated by different demons, and Bosch has to try to figure out why a man would confess to a murder he did not commit.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- we are witnessing history in the making with the Harry Bosch series. Michael Connelly continues to write at a level that few authors ever attain. His novel THE LINCOLN LAWYER is now available in paperback and recently won the prestigious Macavity Award for best novel of 2006 (presented by Mystery Readers International).

Under this relatively new word means a new approach to production of goods which tends to reduce the environmental impact throughout the process of house conception.

A new philosophy …

Initially we must imagine a product made from recycled and recyclable materials. Its implementation should intervene in factories anxious to preserve the environment. As this product will consist of a minimum of parts it will be easier to carry, less cartons therefore fewer trucks, which affect pollution road. Finally designed to last longer, this product will prevent waste. While there is a fad course, but also a demand from consumers anxious to preserve the environment, and finally a positive image that want giving companies that adhere to this process. Today, the chemical industry is involved, directly or indirectly in the production of essential products that surround us. That is why it is at the forefront of concerns for sustainable development. In the early 1990s was born the concept of green chemistry in the United States. It aims to develop products and chemical processes to reduce or eliminate the use and synthesis of hazardous substances.

This green chemistry is guided by a list of 12 recommendations proposed in 1998 by Paul Anastas, director of the Green Chemistry Institute in Washington and his colleague John Warner.

Focus on prevention is to reduce pollution at source rather than having to invest in sanitation or waste disposal.
By saving the atoms used in the synthesis, the chemical industry reduced the amount of residue of reaction, or suppress them altogether.
The design of less hazardous chemical synthesis is reflected in the use of new processes to create and use low-toxic substances - even non-toxic - for human and environmental impact. (more…)
